Finn Wolfhard past childhood actor and arising star in the entertainment industry has made a statement that still stands. From making an audition in his very own bedroom to now years later becoming an official famous icon taking part in multiple industries. His fame started to take flight when he landed the role of Mike from the globally recognised show on Netflix "Stranger things" at only 12 years old only for his career to skyrocket from there as he appeared in magazines throughout years and landed many roles in different genera's. Appearing in both comedies and horror or even a mix, we will analyze the two most underrated roles and perspectives of Finn Michael Wolfhard in his career both in and out of the spotlight.

His character of a young curious brave young boy Mike from stranger things quickly earned him a large critical acclaim dedicated fan base when he was in his early teens. Finn has perused music as the front man of the Indie rock band "The Aubreys", his balance and jumps between industries and even juggling modelling in some forms established him a place as a well known versatile young artist in the entertainment industry. Early in April 2025 his movie that he both played a critical role in and directed himself "Hell of a Summer" sparks media interest. Finn Wolfhard in some interviews claimed that he would sometimes stay back after filming sessions for stranger things and personally ask the Duffer brothers about directing as he held a deep interest for it earlier in his teens. Edgy Indie rock are usually the words used to describe Finn's style when looking at his music and newer style overall.
Fun Finn Fact: He originally wanted to name his band after his dog Audrey but realised there was a band already named "The Audreys" so he simply replaced the d with a b
Miles Fairchild "The turning" 2020
Miles Fairchild was one of Finn Wolfhard's most earie roles, whenever this character came on screen a carefully crafted creepy melody (possibly a double bass and a cello, some muted piano notes along with distant reverb heavy percussion notes.) would play in the background. This character has such complexity and twisted objectives that it received heavy media attention such as edits and fan perspectives. Miles Fairchild's backstory of being an innocent boy corrupted by a man named Quint was not exactly mainly focused on but rather left to theorize.

The twisted backstory was hinted by Mrs Grove (the house keeper and carer) along with lines of "Quint would disappear with him for hours." Another quote was from the diary of the past house keeper being "That creep took him to a bar and they returned laughing as if they were both drunk." This level of corruption was topped off with Miles wearing Quint's dark maroon red sweater for symbolism along with developing some similar characteristics to him. This is further portrayed when Kate near the early start of the movie thought she saw Quint walk into Miles's room or his ghost, its a theory that Miles was almost possessed but its up for debate.

Another twisted take on symbolism was when Kate was talking to Miles in his room. He picked up a small spider and proceeded to put it in a large tank only for a large Tarantula OR Wolf spider to pounce and attack it. Both Wolf spiders and Tarantulas are known to be aggressive as they attack to hunt prey instead of weaving webs to lure them in. This symbolism set the mood that Miles was not patient but still calculating and stealthy as the spider ambushed with such speed and aggression. This symbolism is later built upon when Miles decided to enter Kates room.
Miles Fairchild attempted to kiss Kate and watched her sleep once, it was theorized that he watched Kate sleep more then once after making a comment on a tattoo on the back of her neck covered by her hair which could only be seen if pulled back. His disturbing behaviour when Kate asked why he got suspended was blunt, but the earie melody played and intensified to such an unsettling extent only for him to kiss Kate, he then apologises and goes to leave, still blunt and disturbingly calm.

Quint was proven to have sexually assaulted the last in house tutor in the movie, Miles was gradually copying Quints behaviour with subtle indications of the same sick intent but its still up for debate. The other two scenes such as when he killed his sisters favourite fish by brutally stomping on it only to say "nothing should ever have to suffer." Along with style of training horses being to whip them harder intensifies the sick twisted overall character.
A small easter egg is when the near ending scene of Kate going "crazy" is that both Miles and his sister were playing in a certain room. The same room where the photos of Quints victim lays in the corner only seen for a small moment, could the children have already seen those pictures? I linked the idea of Miles and his sister knowing back to the saying "Nothing has to suffer." Along with Miles's behaviour so there's a chance that Miles bluntly knew what Quint was doing and perhaps even took part as we see him attempting to do twisted things to Kate with his assault and twisted remarks.
Overall many theories about Miles Fairchild still lies unable to be proven but only remain as thoughts. However the audience can agree that everything tied in to such an extent that it ended up being such a role that was well thought.
Boris Pavlikovsky "The Goldfinch" 2019
This role of Finn Wolfhard took a rather comedic view on his part and is his favourite role during his acting career so far. Boris was a character originally from Ukraine who moved around globally a lot to even Russia, he had a thick accent and many personality characteristics for the plot of the movie. His friendship with the main character Theo played a crucial role for the plot and character development overall.

One of Boris's first actions when he was introduced was to put up an umbrella to shield himself and Theo from the sun, He also made funny remarks and quotes such as "They promised not to fuck up the environment but then they fuck up the environment but here who cares?" He said this when explaining about the company his father works at. When hanging out with Theo Finn Wolfhard portrayed the smile and emotions with a great flow, he intensified the scenes with facial expressions truly getting into character.

When Theo first moved in he originally refused the vodka Boris offered at first only to indulge in drugs with him later. Through the movie Boris lightened the mood up with casual jokes but made Theo open up his feelings in serious times, he rubbed off in Theo promoting stealing, drug use and even slapped him as a casual banter which could have deeper meaning. Boris was abused by his father and we see him getting hit after Theo sneaks out of his house, this also heavily suggests that Boris gained many of his characteristics from his father.

He gave Theo some of the strongest hallucinogenic drugs right before Theo found out his father had died, Boris simply sat with Theo and even tried to steal a glass of champaign from one of the people in the house when they weren't looking after Theo was told. This moment portrayed Boris as an addict and he then proceeded to steal the Goldfinch painting and betray Theo, he further said he would follow Theo when he ran away but never came.
Overall this role was well done and executed to such an extent, it was enjoyable and therefore Finn's favourite role so far in his acting career. The emotional development and humourism Finn added to the role made the movie better as a whole fans say.
Shoot of the centuries
In May 2019, Finn Wolfhard was unveiled as the face of Saint Laurent's Fall/Winter 2019 campaign. Under the creative direction of Anthony Vaccarello, the campaign was captured in black and white by renowned photographer David Sims. Finn's styling featured slim-cut pants, a button-down shirt, a skinny tie, a leather jacket, and sunglasses, evoking a retro rockstar aesthetic reminiscent of Bob Dylan's 1960s style.

The campaign received widespread acclaim, with fans drawing comparisons between Finn's look and early Bob Dylan. Even singer Shawn Mendes expressed his admiration, commenting "This is amazing" on one of the campaign photos which goes to show the media attention that Finns receiving.
Finn's partnership with Saint Laurent continued in subsequent years. In 2022, he featured in the Fall/Winter 2022 campaign, once again under the creative direction of Anthony Vaccarello and photographed by Gray Sorrenti . This campaign showcased Finn in a more refined, contemporary light, further solidifying his presence in the fashion world.
Ever since Finn Wolfhard's fame rose when he was a minor he was often given inappropriate treatment such as posts or comments from some of his fanbase. One of the most horrific occurrences happened in 2017, when comedian Patton Oswalt, during a San Diego Comic-Con panel, introduced the Finn (who was 14 at the time) by saying he had “the greatest porn name ever.” He further advised Finn to avoid projects titled “Stranger Thongs.” Finn was visibly uncomfortable and was highly criticized by fellow actors and his fanbase due to how inappropriate the joke was. In response to the backlash, Oswalt acknowledged the remark as “graceless” and apologized both privately to Finn and publicly on Twitter, stating, “I thought I was being funny but was actually a graceless asshole. I’ve since apologized and, I hope, learned”.
Additionally, Finn was subjected to unsolicited and inappropriate comments from adults. In 2017, a 27-year-old model made headlines by commenting on Finn’s Instagram, “not to be weird, but hit me up in a few years.” Finn responded to TMZ, visibly uncomfortable, calling the comment “gross” and acknowledging the model's subsequent apology. Its small events like these that made Finn more and more earie as he slowly realised the gravity of being a minor holding fame and how its not all camera flashes but some people don't see him as a person and rather a sexualized figure.
In Hollywood it was considered normal for actors no matter their age to be sexualized in fact Hollywood hasn't in reality changed that much since its early days. They don't take large measures to ensure minor safety and it so far disgusts people but is no longer talked about and if so only rarely on media in 2025.
“I started having panic attacks when I was around 15 or 16…” Finn Wolfhard suffered from panic attacks at an early age, they would clash with his career from time to time, although he received support and guidance after coming clean there was a time where he hid it. "Everyone was like, ‘Look at him, he’s fine. He’s having the best time.’ But in reality, … anxieties were forming and things that I didn’t realise that I had to bury because of how I had to feel at work.” Nostalgia and teenagerhood took a crash on Finn, he felt self pressured to act pitch perfect but in reality he simply wasn't. “Maybe I would go back to when the show first came out and blew up, and I would directly put myself into therapy… It was so crazy and overnight, that there was not really any time to think about that." (From his people magazine published in July 2024.)
Hand picked quotes to display morals and the essence of Finn Wolfhard
“It’s going to sound cheesy, but if I have family and friends I don’t really care where I am.”
“Being able to have empathy for people and want to do right by them, that’s a good feeling to have.” ~from a Cosmopolitan interview

Fans gasp as the media erupts when Finn decided to cut his hair completely off, sides and arguments take stances alongside conspiracies to why he did it arise. Finn Michael Wolfhard shaved his head for many reasons combined in my personal opinion but the true question should rather be "why wouldn't he?" After all the events that turned a dream of having fun Infront of the camera into disaster, whether it be cause he was seen as his looks rather then raw talent, his music genre receiving hate or just film district corruption and media based occurrences not to mention being sexualized at 14 or filming for endless hours later in his career.

Overall Finn Wolfhard is a successful star making his mark in multiple industries, some of his work is underrated and many major events are only highlighted in the heat of the moment. His career and resume would stand out in a selection of a thousand in a room and he has a personality of cunning humour filled energy. Some say its the butterfly effect of being in stranger things but I personally feel its safe to say his fame also came from his dedication and creative nature what do u think?
